Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello talk about the end of SHM

The emotions I felt were indescribable when I found out that the super trio were breaking up, it's a dark dark day for all EDM lovers, despite the amount of statements coming out, most of them being false, SHM have finally shed some light towards why they are breaking up, shedding some light on the issue so have a look!

FREE DOWNLOAD: Ellie Goulding - Lights (Feenixpawl Bootleg)

The duo who are partly responsible for creating the best track of 2012 so far 'In My Mind' have released a free download for reaching 25,000 fans. This track is definitely going to be played out on a lot of sets this weekend, including mine. Ellie Goulding's vocals are slightly set back and Feenixpawl let the instrumental lead the way instead of making it the other way around, resulting in an absolutely mesmerizing track!!!

Calvin Harris ft. Example - We'll Be Coming Back (R3hab EDC Remix)

First debuted at NYC (hence the name) R3hab adds an extremely progressive sound to the track, leaving behind his usual chainsaw sounds and opting for a more feel good song perfect for the summer. This track, especially the remix, is definitely up there for being the potential hit of the summer. Enjoy!

Avicii - ID (Jakob Liedholm's Summerburst Edit)

Although the melody has been slightly changed to use a different synth instead of Avicii's signature one. Liedholm's rendition of the upcoming Avicii banger is relatively the same, having been lucky enough to see this track live I can tell you that it is going to be way bigger than levels, such a great melody. Have a listen!

Shinedown - Unity (Matisse & Sadko Remix)

Once again, Matisse & Sadko have created a track that is set to take the EDM world by storm and  garner heavy support from the biggest names in the industry, their remix of Unity follows the same progressive leads as their last hit 'Beating Of My Heart', but still keeping it a fresh new track at the same time, here is an HQ radio rip to keep you guys satisfied!

Santigold - The Keepers (The Knocks Remix)

The Knocks have been a quiet duo working behind the studio lately, and the results seem to be extremely beneficial to the dance music community. Releasing this track as a free download, it's the perfect way to put them back onto the scene. Check it out!!!

Dannic - Tombo (Original Mix)

Although this track may not be for all of you, this was definitely worth a post, a funky, somewhat tech influenced cut from Revealed Recordings prodigy Dannic. With a lot of intricacies within the track as well as layers that make the song what it is, it's extremely impressive to see someone like Dannic bring out a less harder hitting track.

TRACK OF THE MONTH: Hard Rock Sofa & Squire - Just Can't Stay Away

It may not be the best release this month, but it's definitely the most important, and although I say it's not the best release its definitely up there and it'll be included in my top 10 for sure. Hard Rock Sofa & Squire take a more progressive take on this track, which seems to be an increasing trend, with producers who are used to hard hitting tracks such as Wolfgang Gartner testing waters with tracks such as 'Redline' and this seems to be the case again. Great piano breakdowns and a not so hard hitting drop with the perfect amount of synths. I say this is the most important track because this is definitely going to catch the attention of people whom have been unlucky enough to have never heard of Hard Rock Sofa before. Check it out!

BANGER ALERT: Mikael Weermets, Bauer & Lanford - Out Of Control (Original Mix)

It's finally great to see an amazing orignal track from Mikael Weermets, garnering heavy support from the likes of Tiesto, I hope this track finally gives his him the huge recognition he so rightfully deserves. Credit to Bauer & Lanford for this track as well, the piano breakdown as well as the somewhat fidget-y vocals are great, enjoy!

Dragonette - Pick Up The Phone (Madera Remix)

A great feel good remix by up and coming producer madera, still relatively unheard of, this guy is for sure going places!! With those high pitched synths that we all know and love and some great progression within the track, i'm surprised this hasn't become more of a hit. Commended by Dragonette herself to be a great track!

Played by both Alesso and Nara & Milani in their livesets, although I originally thought that you could never mess with 'Beating Of My Heart' this defies that rule, the top line of Sweet Disposition fits perfectly with the euphoric synth play within the track. Have a listen!!!

PREVIEW: Chris Lake & John Dahlback - I Saw This Before

Summer Package

Because i'm going on a flight which is gonna take around 20 hours,  it probably means that i'm not gonna be updating this blog till I get home. So here are some tracks as well as 2 epic previews that i'm listening to kick my summer off. Enjoy!!!

Otto Knows really wanted to tease his listeners with this one, as the preview cuts off right before the drop, although I haven't heard it yet if it's anything like his previous tracks then we're in for a treat!

Afrojack & R3hab - ID
Courtesy of Bleed House, another awesome music blog. Afrojack and R3hab are just perfect together with Nick Van De Wall's high pitched bleeps and R3habs chainsaw background synths, can't wait for this one.  Here is a high quality radio rip which is good enough!

Chicane - Thousand Mile Stare
I need to see this guy live, this track just brings out the best that trance has to offer, a laidback vibe but still enough punch to party to.  Sorry but I couldn't find a DL link for this one so here is the youtube video.

Although I think the Qulinez remix can never ever be topped this is a really solid mashup!!! Of A Heavy Abacus with Avicii's feel good track Sunshine, definitely a perfect one to start off the summer!

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say sorry that I might not be posting as frequently as I usually do due to the fact that I'm going to be traveling for the next 20 hours! If I get the time I'll post the summer package that I've been working on for all of you or I'll get someone else to post it. So don't think that I've stopped posting completely if you don't see any posts!

Because he reached 60,000 fans on Facebook not so long ago, Tommy Trash showed his gratitude by giving this away to his fans as a free download, turning the synths to match MGMT's 'Kids' mixed in with the original song of his remix of 'Unite Us'. Overall a great mashup so check it out!!

Adrian Lux - Burning (Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl Remix)

Although the duo may never reach the heights that 'In My Mind' created after it's release with this track, they have definitely made and incredible effort in doing so, feel good synths and huge bass just in time for the summer festival season to start. Check it out!

Alesso & Dirty South - City Of Dreams (Jakob Liedholm's Do Like You Edit)

Jakob Liedholm continues to impress the electronic world by remaking tracks that are anticipated to come out and making them his own, or putting his own spin on things. I think this has been his best job to date and his version of the somewhat guitar breakdown, blended with Eva Simons' hit vocal from 'I Don't Like You' are just pure energy. This definitely suffices till we wait for the original track to come out!

RELEASE: Dyro - Paradox (Original Mix)

Judging by the fact that the preview of this track got a substantial amount of views on the blog, I would say that this is probably one of the most anticipated releases this month, and it's finally out! John Dahlback feat. Urban Cone & Lucas Nord – Embrace Me (Dirty South Remix)

Dirty South has released his take on John Dahlback's 'Embrace Me', once again pulling on all the emotional strings that EDM has to offer, this is probably the biggest contender for this summer's progressive hit. Uplifting synths and the Dirty South sound present throughout the song, it's definitely a banger that is going to be around for a while. I still stand by my statement that this guy is EXTREMELY underrated and deserves more recognition. I'm sure this will more than suffice while we're still waiting for the anticipated collaboration with Alesso entitled 'City Of Dreams'

Monday Morning Motivation

I would like to start off by saying make sure you keep an eye on the blog after this post, as there is going to be a HUGE release later. As for now, here are a few tracks to keep you going until then!! Featuring Cedric Gervais and Michael Brun!

Charlie XCX - Nuclear Seasons (Michael Brun Remix)
Similar to 'Rise' Michael Brun follows the same template yet makes it a completely different track, this progressive producer has definitely .got big things in store for him. This is for sure going on the top 10 releases of the month

Cedraic Gervais - Molly
Despite the somewhat funny song title and all the drug references within the song, you can't help but listen to this acid house influenced banger, such a great track so I thought i'd post it even if it's a bit old.

Lana Del Rey - Video Games (Adrian Lux & Blende Remix)

Lana Del Ray's Video Games has been remixed countless times and apart from the Jooris Voorn remix, none others were worth posting, well today I found another one which is an incredible remix by Swedish producer Adrian Lux and Blende. Having seen both live I can tell you that they are masters at what they do and I think it's great that Blende came into the track as you can definitely hear his influence make it more bouncy. Have a listen!

Apologies for the lack of DL link for this one as it's literally been impossible to find an HQ version of this track anywhere!! If I manage to do so I will update it with a link, for now here's the soundcloud one.

Recovery Sundays

More tracks for you with a chilled out vibe!! Just in time for you to get in recovery mode for the weekend to get ready for the week to come!

High For This (Monsieur Adi Remix)
you can never go wrong with Ellie Goulding's vocals and Monsieur Adi puts a laidback spin on it with bass still being present, which can be a very hard thing to do. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks that i've posted on this segment so have a look!

Miguel Migs - So Far (Original Mix)
Here's a little throwback for you from 2007/2008, great track and perfect for just laying around, the typical beach house song. I wish they made more songs like this nowadays!

Sebastian Benett - Clinch (Original Mix)

Already garnering support from heavyweights such as Laidback Luke, Yves V and Antoine Clamaran this track is getting the recognition it deserves, with an interesting bass filled drop and some great synth works in the buildup, definitely a banger and a great release for this month! I'll definitely be looking for more of this rising producer as he releases more tracks as you can definitely see the great potential he has.

Weekend Package (Chuckie Bootleg Giveaway Special)

Another special weekend package for all of you, Chuckie gave away 3 bootlegs for free yesterday that destroyed the crowd at EDC, a bunch of mashups blending classic tracks with the dirty dutch sound we all know him for! Although I have to say the Internet Friends mashup is ridiculously creative.

BANGER ALERT: John Dahlback - Pyramid (Nathan Cohn 2012 Re-Cut)

So this one is definitely going on the top of the list for the best releases this month, Nathan Cohn always impresses with his bootlegs and this track shows what I think to be the great things that are to come ahead for this talented producer. Enchanting melodies and euphoric drops are exactly what you ask for in a progressive banger and this is just that, definitely gonna be on repeat for a while. Enjoy!

Michael Jackson - Bad (Afrojack Remix)

When I saw this at first I was a bit skeptical on whether this works but Afrojack has done an amazing job with remixing the track, it seems like he gave the track the right amount of respect (as it should be) by not playing with it too much and not completely changing it up, in fact the Afrojack sound doesn't come in till about midway through the song but he did a perfect job in remixing this song, check it out!

Omnia & Ira - The Fusion (Original Mix)

People who frequent this blog know that I don't usually post trance unless it's REALLY good, in this case when I heard this I definitely had to share this. As much as I love house and all the forms it comes in, I feel that the melodic vibe that trance brings cannot be replaced and that's definitely the case with this track, a hard intro with grinding synths, don't let them put you off as the melody that follows is mind blowing. Have a listen and get ready to be blown away!

PREVIEW: Dyro - Paradox (Original Mix)

This track was first premiered at EDC by Hardwell. Dyro is experiencing what I believe to be called the 'Alesso Effect'. He comes out of nowhere through one banger (that was metaphor) and ever since then hasn't come out with a single disappointing track whatsoever, I definitely think that Dyro is the breakthrough artist of 2012, just as Alesso was for 2011. Enjoy!! Released June 18th via Revealed Recordings.

The Spotlight: Thomas Gold

Sorry to be so late on The Spotlight lately but finally here it is, this segment's artist is the German powerhouse known to us as Thomas  Gold, exploding onto the scene at around 2009/2010, although he's been around for a while he's only been getting the recognition he deserves from the majority of people now. Holding numerous Beatport chart toppers under his belts, such as Sing2Me, Silence (Niles Van Gogh & Thomas Gold Remix) and his ever so popular remix to Adele's 'Set Fire To The Rain. Thomas Gold already has a great repertoire of tracks, but the thing is he's nowhere near from slowing down, with his new album out consisting of new tracks and edits it seems like he's just getting started.

Here are my favorite, and maybe not so well known tracks by him!

We Want Your Soul (Thomas Gold Remix)
A progressive masterpiece, probably my favorite track by the producer and it's definitely what got me listening to his stuff a lot more!!!

Thomas Gold vs. Red Carpet - Sing2Me Alright (Ben Dooks Reboot)
Already epic on it's own, Thomas Gold adds Red Carpet's vocals of the house classic 'Alright'. I couldn't find his version but this one is identical. Epic is an understatement when describing this track, it shows that you don't need hard synths or big bass to give a track an epic feel.

Thomas Gold & Dirty South ft. Kate Elsworth - Alive (Alesso Remix)
Thomas Gold prefers playing the Tommy Trash remix but this would have to be my favorite one, still keeping the original elements to the song, Alesso adds a little bit of synth here and there to make it so much better!

Aiden Grimshaw - Is This Love (Dubvision Remix)

RELEASE: Chuckie & Promise Land ft. Amanda Wilson - Breaking Up

Let me start off by saying that on the production side of things, this is a pretty impressive track, showcasing the sound of Promise Land quite well. Although the 2 producers take a different route to what they would usually take in this track, the result is still the same, a massive banger for the summer. Out on Big Beat Records. Enjoy!

Please lemme know if the DL link get's taken down!!!

Ashley Wallbridge - Zorro
I never usually put trance up here unless it's extremely good, this definitely deserves it, gives you that euphoric feeling that trance is meant for!

Rene Kuppens & Dyro - Raid
Slightly late on this one but still had to post it nonetheless, the Revealed Recordings prodigy does it again and comes out with a massive banger, showing a lot of Hardwell's influence within the track, especially in it's structure. Apologies but couldn't find a dl link for this one!

LIVE PREVIEWS: Avicii's 3 Unreleased Tracks

Unfortunately I could not find any download links for this as they were all only premiered this month, and I was lucky enough to witness these tracks be played by the beast himself, here are Avicii's 3 new unreleased tracks! All absolute bangers, although my personal favorite would have to be the 1st one. Enjoy!

Props to Planet House Music for the videos

ID1
Incorporating proper Avicii melodies and sounds within the track, as well as a typical feel good drop!

ID2 w/ I Need A Miracle
The anthemic status that this song has is made even better with an unkown Avicii instrumental over it, apologies for the camera not focusing but at least there's a good enough sound! Loving the violins on this one.

ID3
This one is Avicii trying to showcase a more electro-ish sound from what you can hear in the track, a little daft punk/french house/disco influence in the breakdown as well, or it may just be the song its mixed in with. Which then turns into a MASSIVE electro house drop.

The epicness begins tonight, where I will be among 16,000 people to witness Avicii's first ever headlining show in the UK, supported by Cazzette, Chuckie and Hardwell. To share my excitement, here are my favorite tracks from each artist.

Spencer & Hill ft. Nadia Ali - Believe It (Cazzete Remix)
Cazzete love their signature dub house sound, and although this track is still more on the progressive side of things, it's definitely worth a listen, showcasing the immense talent that the duo have.

Hardwell - Cobra (Original Mix)
Hardwell's progressive electro house sound is amazing in this track, huge synths and huge bass is what he's known for and he definitely delivers on this one, listen to it loud!

Chuckie - Who Is Ready To Jump
The Dirty Dutch mogul came out with this banger not long ago and it's been on repeat ever since it came out, such a banger!

Avicii - Put Your Piano On
The unreleased track which is meant to be the follow up to levels, with piano synths extremely present and Avicii's signature sound all over the track, it's classic Avicii, can't wait to hear this one live!
