Best Tracks Of Tomorrowland 2012

Over the past 4-5 days I have not been updating the blog, this is due to the fact that I was lucky enough to attend one of the greatest, if not the greatest festivals in the world, Tomorrowland. It was more an experience than just an ordinary festival and the world class lineup was matched with ID&T's flawless production, the mainstage was mindblowing and the production of every single stage was massive, I have never seen so many lasers/lights in my life, as well as a huge LED screen shaped like a book.

Here are what were the standout tracks over the festival, the ones that were played the most and had the most positive crowd reaction.

Nara & Milani - Atom (Original Mix)
From the pre party to the closing set, the song was ever present in all stages, with the huge sound system that tomorrowland had (my ears are still ringing) this was perfect to drop in front of a 180,000 strong crowd and it definitely destroyed every dance floor where it was played.

Otto Knows - Million Voices (Original Mix)
I distinctly remember walking back to the campsite and the crowd which was probably a few thousand people started chanting this track on the way back, the childrens voices, as well as the uniqueness that the track has on the progressive side, was one that received huge praise.

Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash - ID
Although this track is yet to be released, on the last day of the festival a lot of artists were playing this track, and the reactions that it received were huge, although it is still unknown when the release dates are, I definitely cannot wait to get my hands on this one.

Deadmau5 ft. Chris James - The Veldt (Tommy Trash Remix)
Once again, this as a staple in most livesets including that of Avicii's and Tommy Trash himself played it on the last day at the Pearl stage (an underwater themed stage), the electrified version of the Deadmau5 track absolutely killed it! And I cannot describe how wild the crowd went to this one.

Alesso - Years
Another unreleased crowd favorite, a staple in most progressive sets and Alesso even opened his set with it on the first day.

Knife Party - Internet Friends
The somewhat ingenius breakdowns with the scary internet voice and the Iphone ringing, this track was played countless times throughout the festival and people went crazy.

Tomorrowland Package

As I am lucky enough to be venturing to Tomorrowland tonight, it means I will be without internet for 6 days. And although I will be having the time of my life, this means I will not be able to provide you guys with good music for a week, so here is a package, of what I think are going to be the highlight songs of this festival and a bunch of new tracks that have been on repeat.

I will be back with some great music when I get back.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - Tomorrow Changed Today (Tomorrowland 2012 Anthem)
The official festival anthem made by the Tomorrowland residents themselves Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, great song!

Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero - Sparks (Vocal Mix)
I posted this song as an instrumental and Matthew Koma (The vocalist of years) lended out his vocals to this track to make it even more of an electrifying banger.

Dirty Laundry - We Could Be One (Whelan & DiScala Remix)
Great progressive banger from the English duo, really really been getting into these two as of late, and they never fail to impress!

Paris & Simo - Nova
Fresh release off of Hardwell's Revealed recordings, Paris & Simo is a huge big room banger at it's best, winning the remix competition of Work Hard, Play hard by Tiesto definitely ballooned their careers and this is testament to their skill.

Jupiter Ace ft. Geneva Lane - Glowing In The Dark
A staple in Avicii's sets as of late, although it's very much unlike his style it's definitely a track that is a must have. And the vocals are just great.

M - 3ox ft. Dan Brown - Next To You (Original Mix)
The creators of the hit progressive tune 'Beating Of My Heart' are at it again and this time it's with a much harder hitting track!

Avicii - ID (Asalto's Summerburst Remake)

There has been a huge amount of buzz regarding Avicii's new track that he's been playing in his liveshows, to satisfy us prior to the release Asalto has made a remake which is pretty much the same track, creating the euphoric Avicii big room sound that we all know and love.

RELEASE: Manila Killa x Deadmau5 x Eva Simons - Strobe (Manila Killa Remix)

Manila Killa, someone whom I have the privilege of DJ'ing with tonight, has put a huge electro spin on this track and he's done an extremely good job in doing so, coupling it with Eva Simons' hypnotic vocals, it goes perfectly with the progressions that strobe has to offer, giving us a solid summer track! Check it out!

RELEASE: Eddie Thoneik & Norman Doray - Ceslsius

Both producers extremely underrated, yet still come out with banger after banger. This track in particular, is especially huge, out on Size Records, which has been churning out some sick tunes as of late, this would definitely have to be at the top of their collection, the somewhat dark and bouncy synths and the wobble before the drop make this song. Check it out!

RELEASE: Madeon - Finale

Madeon decided to flex his abilities and versatility in producing tracks with this one by bringing us the epic track that is Finale. At 17 years old, this producers musical knowledge could surpass that of a 40 year old who's been in the same industry for a while. His creativity and fresh sound that he brings to people has so far been uncontested. Check out his newest track!

Recovery Sundays

More of my steady favorite tracks to get you through the day! Featuring Kaskade and Kris Menace, both tracks being utter classics.

Kaskade - It's You, It's Me
There is nothing that beats Kaskade on a hungover sunday morning, the soothing vocals and steady bassline make for one of the chillest tracks out there. The perfect throwback.

Example - Two Lives (Kris Menace Remix)
Examples vocals are morphed to fit a chiller instrumental track, rather than the mainstream pop song that it was before the remix, and I have to say i'm a huge fan of the transformation that Kris Menace did, such a talented producer.

PREVIEW: AN21 & Max Vangeli Ft. Julie McKnight - Bombs Over Capitals

With their debut album People Of The Night soon to be released sometime around August, the duo have started releasing their tracks slowly and teasing them to everyone, this one in particular caught my eye especially since its with Julie McKnight. A legend when it comes to house vocal tracks, and the voice responsible for the 2008 hit 'How Soon Is Now'. She definitely did a great job on this one and added that much needed emotional factor to the track. Yet another sick one on the album. Check it out!

Weekend Package

As we are well and truly into the weekend, I have my old laptop back, and everything seems to be going extremely well at the moment, there's nothing like a bit of EDM to top it all off!!! Featuring a preview which I can't wait to come out for and an insane banger of a track.

Dada Life - Feed The Dada (Preview)
The craziness involved in the preview of this track is hilarious as it is crazy, then again what more would you expect from the duo of bananas and champagne. In true Dada-esque fashion, the meaty synths and grinding chords are definitely ones look forward too. No word on release dates yet.

Michael Woods & Sheldon ft. Polina - Goodbye (Original Mix)
Very unlike Michael Woods, he moves away from his usual tech influences and sounds and goes extremely progressive. And i'm definitely not complaining, the great vocals are a perfect mix of his instrumental abilities. Check it out!

BANGER ALERT: Red Hot Chili Peppers x Sander Van Doorn - Waiting 4 Nothing Inside (Project 46 Mashup)

This is one of those songs that plays towards the later part of a night which results in you staying for a longer time than what was originally intended. There's nothing like belting out to Red Hot Chili Peppers vocals coupled with Sander Van Doorn's emotional track 'Nothing Inside'. Definitely a must have for the libraries! Project 46 have done it again!

And also, now that I have my old laptop back, expect a lot more music coming your way!

Zedd - Spectrum (Arty Remix) [feat. Matthew Koma]

Zedd's banger 'Spectrum' has been destroying dancefloors all over the world ever since it's release, so much so that it was even remixed by one of the best in the world Armin Van Buuren. This time, one of the most diverse producers in the industry, Arty, remixes the track. I would have to say that this is definitely one of the better remixes of the track that are out there, and it's definitely one of the more interesting ones. Check it out!

Dash Berlin - Silence In Your Heart (4 Strings Remix)

Slightly harder hitting than the original, 4 strings still keep the euphoric feel that the track has. There's nothing like hands in the air trance that just brings you to another world! Check this one out!

PREVIEW: Pryda - Everyday

Fresh off the release of his artist album 'Pryda', Eric Prydz shows no signs of slowing down, headlining IDentity festival across the states which is a huge deal considering his fear of flying, he still finds time to release a bunch of new ID's and this is one of them. A masterly crafted track full of layers and catchy melodies with an acapella of John Ciafone, this could be one of his best tracks to date. I say this is a preview but the track is still 5 minutes long. Check it out!!!

RELEASE: Afrojack - Rock The House

First debuted at UMF by the man himself, the anticipation to when this track was going to come out was huge. The producer released it once he had reached 1 million fans, this song is definition Afrojack, the bleeps and heavy dutch sound are ever present, such a banger. Enjoy!

RELEASE: Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero - Sparks

Electricity is what comes to mind when listening to this track, both producers are huge names in the EDM industry, so it's only fitting that they come out with a monster of a track when collaborating together, both their sounds present and the Nicky Romero wobble is still ever present in the background. Probably one of the best tracks this month. Check it out!

Monday Morning Motivation

Yet another week comes and more motivation is needed through the form of EDM! Here are a few tracks that i've been listening to and will definitely get you guys out of bed!

Michael Woods - IndepenDANCE
I was never a fan of Michael Woods until I saw him live, but you can tell within his tracks that he gets his influences from everywhere, this electro house track was released for free to celebrate the 4th of July. Such a great track and definitely a huge banger. Check it out!

Madonna - Turn Up The Radio (R3hab's Surrender Remix)
R3hab is continuing to impress everyone in the industry at the moment, his versatility through production is just amazing, the amount of sounds he brings out and the spectrum of how different they are is so impressive. Check this one out!!! A more feel good summery track.

MOVIE RELEASE: Ultra Music Festival: Can U Feel It

Ultra in Miami has been pegged the biggest electronic music festival in the world, partly to do with the fact that it's held during the Winter Music Conference which occurs throughout march, besides the insane party footage showcasing the number of people that attended the festival, as well as the impressive production that they have going for them, there is actually an interesting insight into dance music and why it's become so big. Artists such as Guetta, Armiin, Fedde Le Grand and Carl Cox lend out their opinions on how dance music has evolved and what it means for them!

LIVE PREVIEW: Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child

So tomorrow marks a momentous occasion, the three kings of house music are releasing what is possibly to be their last ever single as a group or the Swedish House Mafia moniker, this song is said to make 'grown men cry' (quoting from Ingrosso). As much as I love the track, I thought that SHM would stick back to their roots and create something like 'One'. Nevertheless, there are ridiculous levels of emotion in this track.

BANGER ALERT: Seige & Seb Thomasson - Balance (Original Mix)

The two underrated Belgian producers, who i've only heard of recently, have come out with a huuuge banger called 'Balance'. Not a hard hitting track like what bangers usually are but it definitely fits the criteria of destroying a dancefloor and the synth-y breakdown in the middle of the song is just great. Check it out!

Punk Ninja & Monique Thomas - Colourful (Gregori Klosman Remix)

This track is definitely not what we're used to from Klosman, creating a euphoric big room track for the festivals to come, whereas he usually produces his bouncy electro sounds, he takes a different path in this track and shows off his versatility as a producer, definitely digging this one!

couldn't find a DL link so here's the youtube video!

RELEASE: Special Features - You And Me

It's safe to say that Special Features has one of the most unique and innovative sounds in the industry right now, still seen as an up and coming producer, this track will definitely destroy some dance floors this coming weekend and give him some of the recognition that he deserves. His 'New School Progressive House' sound is as original as it is melodic and I love it, the synths on this one kill. Enjoy!

RELEASE: Dyro & Ansol - Top Of The World (Original Mix)

First of all, let me apologize for being slightly late on this one (by 2 or 3 days) my laptop is being repaired at the moment meaning the fact that I have a temporary one has not been letting me get on top of as much music as i'd like, but without further ado here it is! Dyro's signature sound is definitely present on this one and it's debut at UMF was greeted with huge positivity from the crowd. I'm also a huge fan of the looped vocals and the progressive breakdown. Check it out!

FREE DOWNLOAD: Wolfgang Gartner vs Julie McKnight - How Soon Is Red Line (Dannic MashUp)

Revealed Recordings prodigy Dannic has finally reached 10,000 Facebook fans! As a show of his gratitude he has released a gem of a mashup, using the acapella of the 2006 classic 'How Soon Is Now' and blending it perfectly with the progressive elements that Red Line has to offer. Great mashup and this is just sure to get the producer even more fans! Enjoy!

RELEASE: Cubic Zirconia - Darko (Tommy Trash Remix)

When I see Tommy Trash on a track I can't help but feel that there is always going to be raw amounts of energy, and this bouncy electro remix definitely lives up to expectations, with Tommy going for a somewhat darker sound with some techno influences it's quite the intense track, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the Australian producer!

FREE DOWNLOAD: Passion Pit - Take A Walk (Dberrie Remix)

Pacha NYC resident Dberrie has a knack for remixing somewhat indie-ish tracks and turning them into great electronic pieces, just check out his remix of 'Somebody I Used To Know' and you'll get what I mean. The thing I like about this remix is he doesn't jeopardize the vocals during the breakdown by letting it lead the track, and then he switches things up within the drop, making it the leading factor. What's even better is it's up for free! Check it out!

BANGER ALERT: Swanky Tunes & Hard Rock Sofa - Here We Go

A release off Axtone productions and first debuted by the SHM in their coachella set, the buzz surrounding this track has been unbelievable, these producers always know how to bring the high amounts of energy into their tracks and I would have to say that besides Trio this is probably their best one yet! Enjoy!

RELEASE: Temper Trap - Trembling Hands (Benny Benassi Remix)

The Temper Trap have a tendency for their tracks to become EDM anthems, with tracks such as 'Sweet Disposition' being endlessly remixed. Check it out! Please lemme know if the DL link goes down!

Weekend Package

I for one, definitely need the motivation to keep on partying this weekend, with all my energy pretty much drained!! So here are a few tracks that have been playing on repeat for a while that get me pumped before I go out!

An21, Max Vangeli & Tiesto ft. Lover Lover
The highly anticipated track, named after the duo's album set to drop later this summer, is the one that the duo have been creating the most hype about, it definitely has the elements to be a banger over the summer so check it out!

Dim Chris & Sebastian Drums ft. Polina - Sometimes I Feel (Avicii's Out Of Miami Mix)
If you're in the mood for a little throwback then here you go, an Avicii track dating back to 2009, so for all of you critics out there saying he's sold out and that he's so mainstream nowadays, listen to this track and then go to his most recent productions, he hasn't changed his sound one bit!

Event Review: Ferry Corsten

The crowd, the vibes and the music. All absolutely perfect last night when I went to go see Ferry Corsten yesterday at Republiq. Playing a bunch of ID's along with familiar tracks, he definitely connected with the crowd and the amount of energy that was being given off was unbelievable. The production was particularly impressive, with Republiq really going all out and showing why they're probably the biggest club in Manila. Below is a photo of the stage before the event.

The stage in full force towards the latter part of the event!

And now for the music, here are the highlights of my night in terms of the tracks he played, he definitely showed a versatile set, ranging from hard hitting tracks to euphoric trance.

Spaceman's Atom (Lennyray Mashup)
When this track dropped the energy was really at an all time high, you can't get much harder than these two tracks and the mashup was genius.

Ferry Corsten ft. Aruna - Live Forever
When the vocals started on this track, I immediately needed to find it, this was probably THE highlight of my night, such a great track.

Ferry Corsten - Feel It
The thing I love about trance are the melodies that are present throughout the genre, as much as I love progressive house, nothing can really beat the melodies within trance, and this is shown within the breakdown.

Ferry Corsten - Check It Out
Another amazing melodic track, though a lot harder hitting!!! Great song

Although these were the highlights of my night, I highly recommend checking out his whole album WKND, full of great tracks!

Top 10 Tracks of June

Apologies for being a bit late on this one as my laptop has recently been fried therefore I have a completely new one (meaning no iTunes library). It has been an awesome month full of releases and putting it down to the top 10 has been an extremely hard task amidst all the top quality productions that have been coming out, here are the top 10 that I've picked!

10. Laidback Luke ft. Martel - We Are The Stars (Original Mix)
I never actually posted this track on the blog because I was never really into it, I though that Laidback Luke should have stuck to the sounds that he's used to, but I completely take it back, the melodies of this track are amazing and Martel's vocals are made for big rooms and arenas. Unfortunately it has literally been impossible to find a dl link so this would have to suffice! please give me a shout if you find one!

9. Lights (Feenixpawl Remix)
Feenixpawl have really outdone themselves on this one, great feel good synth-y track, what's even better is that its been released as a free dl!! So have a look and get ready to be blown awayyy.

8. Netsky - Puppy
The Drum and Bass legend net sky has released a funky somewhat electro house track that I just can't get enough of, have a listen and you'll see why!

7. Bloody Beetroots - Rocksteady
Of course this had to be included in the top 10, any new track released by this amazing duo should be. With somewhat of a Daft Punk-y sounding track, this track was definitely the right one to release as their comeback song.

6. Tiesto ft. Showtek - Hell Yeah!
This track definitely shows a darker Tiesto than what we're normally used to and that's probably where Showtek's production style came in, this has been destroying dance floors for a while now and its definitely one of those fist pump tracks. Check it out!

5. Fehrplay - Incognito
Emulating the style of a Prydz track (hence why it was released on his label), newcomer Fehrplay gives us yet another breath of fresh air in this track for EDM. Check it out!

4. Zedd ft. Matthew Koma - Spectrum
There's not much I can say about this track since most people already know it, aside from the fact that it showcases Zedd's ability to create a more progressive side of music

3. John Dahlback - Embrace Me (Dirty South Remix)
Another feel good track from Dirty South, although he's getting the recognition he finally deserves I still feel as if he's still one of the most underrated people out there, with numerous productions that have become anthems over the year, he's definitely one of the biggest players in the industry as of now.

2. Deniz Koyu - Bong
Deniz Koyu's productions are always as intricate as they are brilliant, Bong stands testament to this, you can also hear a bit of Fedde's influence within the track as the 2 are very close. This track was definitely built to destroy arenas.

1. EDX ft. Hadley - Everything (Cazzette Remix)
And at the number 1 spot for June would be a recent post and discovery i've made, extremely underrated to say the least, the euphoric vocals of Hadley are unbeatable!! Have a listen.

RELEASE: EDX ft. Hadley - Everything (Cazzette Remix)

Wow, i'm so glad I had stumbled upon this track because the amount of praise that I have for it is endless, there are 2 things so good about this track, the fact that Cazzette showcase their production versatility through straying away from their usual dub house sound and secondly, the AMAZING vocals of Hadley... they literally give me goosebumps, I would have to say that this could possibly be the best release of the year for me.

RELEASE: Marcel Woods & W&W - Trigger

This is definitely a revealed recordings track at it's best, from one of the legends of electronic music, Marcel Woods and the trance heavyweight duo W&W have created what I see to be a representation of all Revealed Recordings tracks, thumping basslines and amazing chord play during the breakdowns, this is definitely best listened to on those festival speakers or extremely big bass heavy ones. Enjoy!

RELEASE: Rob Marmot, My Digital Enemy - African Drop (Tom Staar Remix)

This acidic influenced electro track feels like a breath of fresh air in the EDM world, with the ever increasing formulaic structure of dance music, this definitely brings something different, i've never heard of Tom Staar before this but this track will definitely have me keeping my eyes on him!! Have a look!
