Top 10 Tracks of May

A LOT of tracks came out this month, so here are the top 10 biggest and best releases that I was able to pick out!

1. Eric Prdz pres. Pryda
A bit of a cop out I know, as its actually a whole album instead of a track, but the amount of praise I have given this album is endless, not only was it one of the most anticipated albums in EDM history, but there are just so many good tracks which deserve to be on the top 10.

If you want to see my 6 favorites, with DL links, look HERE (Apologies if some the download links for the Pryda album have been taken down but I couldn't find new ones so I replaced them with youtube vids.)

2. Keane - Silenced By The Night (Alesso Remix)
Alesso takes what seems to be a relatively indie track and turns it into an absolue gem of progressive house, with that signature feel good sound you can't go wrong, definitely gonna be making the festval circuits this summer.

DL LINK: Keane - Silenced By The Night (Alesso Remix) (www.FlowElectro.net).mp3 - 14.7 MB

3.  Lenny Kravitz - Superlove (Avicii Remix)
The playful piano and rhythms of the track, as well as Lenny Kravitz's vocals make for this to be one of the biggest releases of the month, partly because Avicii hasn't released anything in ages.

4.  Miike Snow - The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix)
Thomas Gold has become one of the masters of production when it comes to progressive house, taking 'The Wave' and turning it into an incredible progressive track, with his signature synth play and massive drops, it's an amazing track.

5. Julian Jordan - Rock Steady
The fact that Julian Jordan is only 16 makes this even more incredible, the complexity in the breakdowns and the huge drop shows the maturity as a producer that he has, an underrated yet huge song.

6.  Example ft. Flux Pavillion - Daydreamer (Henry Fong Remix)
The one thing that this song was lacking was a progressive remix, Henry Fong saw this and filled the gap, the first drop that comes out of nowhere is what makes this song.

7. Avicii - Two Million (Original  Mix)
Of course I had to add this song, the thing about this song is Avicii takes such a different approach compared to his usual tracks, and although the melodic euphoria is still present, it's the tech influenced drop that makes me so surprised it's an Avicii track.

8. Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (Manila Killa Remix)
Fresh, that's the only word I have to describe this track, Manila Killa brings a different sound to the Chromeo song and adds a summer twist to it with a touch of complextro influence.

9. Third Party ft. Loleatta Holloway - Thank You (Original Mix)
Originally debuted on Steve Angello's set during EDC, the tack samples an old school song and Third Party once again impress with their euphoric synths.

10. Deadmau5 ft. Chris James - The Veldt (Tommy Trash Remix)
Tommy Trash is a master of pitch, it shows in the remix. As great as the original is, the injection of energy which he put in the track means that it deserves to be in the top 10.

EDX feat. John Williams - Give It Up For Love (Mysto & Pizzi Remix)

This is one of those songs that no matter what mood you're in, this will always make you feel good. The anthemic vocals along with the amazing piano instrumental Mysto & Pizzi put over the track is unbelievable, along with a steady yet euphoric drop. I love this kind of progressive house, so many good vibes. Enjoy!

Free Download: Avicii - Two Million

I first heard this track in December when I saw Avicii live for the first time, I guess he decided to keep it this whole time!!! The moment I heard this track I was already going crazy trying to find it, although the melodic influences are still there, it showcases the versatility that Avicii has as a producer, with a very big tech influence within the drop. Ridiculous would be an understatement to this song, the drop is HUGE!

Released as a free dl for reaching 2 million fans on Facebook.

BANGER ALERT: Deadmau5 ft. Chris James - The Veldt (Tommy Trash Remix)

This track is one I have been waiting an eternity for to come out, although I think the official release date is not until next month, I was able to get my hands on a release already.'The Veldt' in itself was a great song and I loved it, but Tommy Trash did what he does best and just injected pure energy (and a whole lot of bass) into the track, making it HUGE, as well as a lot more rage-friendly than the original. Tommy Trash isn't slowing down anytime soon and this is one of his greatest works to date.

RELEASE: Lenny Kravitz - Superlove (Avicii Remix)

Brand new from the swedish superstar Avicii! One of my favorite artists out there, he does it again with his remix of Lenny Kravitz's superlove, showing his evolving sound as a producer and although it's still his trademark euphoric sound, he brings it in a different way compared to his past tracks, seeing this guy live for the second time next week and it's going to be just as good, if not a lot better. Check it out!

The Spotlight: Third Party

The up and coming duo hailing out of the UK have definitely made a huge imprint within the scene over the past few months, so I thought it was only fitting to do a spotlight on them. With their recent release called 'Feel' now being one of the biggest festival anthems around, as well as their new single with Loleatta Holloway called 'Thank You' which Steve Angello debuted in his most recent set at EDC.  Known for their euphoric synth play these guys never fail to impress! This duo is definitely going places and if you haven't heard of them before it's about time that you finally have. Here are a bunch of tracks by them! Enjoy!

Here are 4 of my favorite tracks from them, blissful house!

Third Party feat. Loleatta Holloway - Thank You
Their most recent single entitled 'Thank You' is probably the best they've released so far, following blissful synth play and great vocals, this could well be one of the festival summer anthems.

Third Party vs. Cicada - Feel
As I said, now one of the biggest songs on the festival circuit, garnering support from the likes of the Swedish House Mafia, euphoric vocals and synths can never go wrong.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside (Third Party Remix)
In my opinion the greatest remix of the anthemic song, powerful synth play and a blasting drop compliment the song perfectly. Love this track, this is what got them on the radar.

Wynter Gordon - Still Getting Younger (Third Party Remix)
Included on one of my weekend packages not long ago, Wynter Gordon's vocals tracks plus the instrumentals created by Third Party result to absolute bliss!!!

RELEASE: AN21 & Max Vangeli Vs. Steve Angello - H8RS

The first release off AN21 & Max Vangeli's upcoming album entitled 'People Of The Night' this track shows something different to what we're used to from the duo, and seems that the track was more driven by Steve Angello than AN21 & Max Vangeli, or they might just be showing a new side to their style of production. Either way the grinding basslines on this track are just incredible and the catchy hooks with the dark melodies top it all of, have a listen!

LIVE PREVIEW: Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero - Spark

There has been a track circulating around the internet which is coined to be the new Fedde and Nicky Romero single entitled 'Spark' with both the producers sounds VERY present in the song, which is rare when you get collaborations like this. Can't wait for this one to come out! Release date to come along with more info on the track when it comes out.

Monday Morning Motivation

More EDM to kickstart your week and get you out of bed!!! Gonna be another great week for releases so here are some songs to get you started on your daily fix of electronic music.

Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans (Kris Menace Remix)
A darker EDM take to Lana Del Rey's hit 'Blue Jeans', the thing I like about Kris Menace is that his remixes make subtle changes or doesn't completely change the track yet it still brings a completely different vibe, check it out!

Maison & Dragen - Wet Dreams
A harder hitting track than what the duo would usually release, showing their versatility as producers. They became famous through their progressive sound so it's nice seeing them switch it up with this huge electro house track.

Swanky Tunes & Hard Rock Sofa - The Edge
I can't help but feel that this track sounds a lot like Deniz Koyu's 'Tung' just with a much harder hit to it, although I prefer Tung, this is still worth a post since it's a new release! Lemme know what you think because i'm not sure with this one!

Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash - ID (Jakob Liedholm's Set Fire Edit)

The 15 year old producer impresses us once again, creating his own take on the track, and at the same time giving us an HQ preview of the soon to be released Ingrosso and Tommy Trash track. He lays the altered vocals of 'Set Fire To The Rain' by Adele to the latter part of the song. He doesn't change the song too much besides adding the acapella and giving it a bigger big room feel. God knows what this kid is gonna be like in a few years time. Great song! And can't wait for the original mix to come out!

RELEASE: Nicky Romero & ZROQ - WTF

Nicky Romero's new single out on his own label Protocol Recordings is the track that people have been waiting for so long to be released, first premiered at UMF this year and the crowd reaction was huge, with a tinge of dubstep, Nicky Romero creates another electro house banger!!! This is a must download!

Recovery Sundays

More chill tracks to get you through this lazy sunday and lay back in the summer weather.

RAC - Hollywood
Great poppy-ish electronic track for the summer weather, with bouncy synths and feel good vocals.

Pryda - Leja
A somewhat Daft Punk-y infused track with the signature Pryda sound of great melodies, the perfect track to get lost to in the sun. The undertone and bass melodies are what make this song such a good one.

RELEASE: Zedd ft. Matthew Koma - Spectrum

Out June 4, I managed to find a dl link to this track which is in HQ, 1 part progressive and the other shows Zedd's signature dubby electro sound, I would have to say this is the best track he's ever made, it's made even better by Matthew Koma's vocals which are perfect for this summer, if there is more music like this coming from Zedd in the future then I am definitely excited to say the least. Amazing track!

Weekend Package 5

The ultimate motivator to keep you going through the weekend is back for another segment of the weekend package, have a look at these great tracks!

Sebastien Drums & Rob Adens - Resonorg
Usually not what you would expect from the french producer but nevertheless a great banger, with some heavy electro synths and a tinge of daft punk influence put into the track, have a listen!

Tiesto - Escape Me
And here's a little throwback for all of you, an old tiesto track thats always a good one to listen to, the fun and bouncy synths never fail to get anyone in a party mood!

Chuckie Vs. Antoine Clamaran - Changed The Tribe (Chuckie Gatecrasher Mashup)
The instantly recognizable vocals of this track make it a great song to play for DJ's out there and the dirty bass line that chuckie loves to have is too good, this is one of those songs that the louder you play it the better it becomes.

Audien ft. Rudy Prophet - These Are The Days (Original Mix)

The releases just don't stop coming when it comes to contending for this summer's anthem, and I have to say this track is definitely up there, if not the best. Avicii-esque piano progressions and a great drop, complimented with Rudy Prophets euphoric vocals, this could well be the winner. I've never heard of Audien before but i'll definitely be keeping an eye out after this. Out on Zouk Recordings.

Preview: Laidback Luke ft. Martel - We Are The Stars (Original Mix)

Laidback Luke contributes to the arsenal of summer tracks that are coming out, lending vocals from Martel, he creates a track with summer anthem potential.  With more of a progressive influence than his other tracks he mixes it up a bit, but there are definitely still a lot of his dutch house influences spread across the track, especially in the track.

YLUV - Never Touch The Ground (Gazzo Remix)

An up and coming producer called Gazzo has released a remix of 'Touch The Ground' and I have to put this down as one of the greatest releases of this month, giving us the perfect summer vibe with anthemic and somewhat different vocals from what you would normally get from an EDM track, overall i'm loving this track. Been on repeat for hours.

Released as a free download on his Soundcloud.

PREVIEW: Zedd ft. Matthew Koma - Spectrum (Original Mix)

Matthew Koma, whom you may or may not know from Alesso's soon to be released single 'Years' has lended his voice out once again to Zedd. Creating what I think is going to be one of the summer anthems of this year, a big electro track with Zedd's signature sounds all over it. Can't wait for this one to come out because it's gonna be a guaranteed banger!

The Wanted - Chasing The Sun (Hardwell Remix)

In true Hardwell fashion, this song is turned into a big room banger, keeping The Wanted's chart hit vocals within the track, Hardwell adds big room synths to the build up and then finishes it with a HUGE electro house drop. Great remix of the chart hit.

EDC New York: Live sets from Afrojack, Avicii, Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso

For those of you who weren't at EDC (including myself), we missed out big time. From the production to the quality of the lineup everything was apparently perfect and crazy to say the least. For those of you who went and want to relive the weekend, here are my favorite live sets from the festival. For those who didn't go, these live sets contain a huge amount of unreleased tracks from each artist so check it out!!! Definitely something i'm going to want to go to soon.

Here are the sets of Avicii, Alesso, Sebastian Ingrosso and Afrojack (who I think had the best set of all)

Sebastian Ingrosso:
Ingrosso, as usual, killed it. This mix includes his new collaboration with Tommy Trash at 1:03 which sounds like it's going to be one of the biggest songs of the summer!!!

Avicii:
As usual, Avicii kills it with his signature sounds, although he also features quite a few ID's which is why this set is worth a listen.

Alesso:
Featuring tracks such as 'City Of Dreams' and 'Years', Alesso shows off his DJ'ing skills in this live set, check it out!

Afrojack:
And saving the best for last, Afrojack once again never disappoints with his live shows, the amount of energy this set has is crazy, watching this live must have been ridiculous, keeping his dirty dutch sound intact and showcasing A LOT of new songs from his upcoming album.

RELEASE: Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (Manila Killa Remix)

And once again, Manila's very own never disappoints. He takes one of the classics 'Fancy Footwork' by Chromeo and puts an electro house spin on the track, making it perfect for the summer vibes that are fast approaching. Wouldn't be surprised if this tops the charts of Hypem or something of the sort. Overall an amazing track and i'd even go as far as saying this is the producers best remix to date, bringing something fresh to the scene.

RELEASE: Alesso - Clash

I was able to get my hands on a 320 (HQ) version of this track, meaning this is the finished product! Which should keep us more than satisfied till years eventually comes out. Alesso takes a different approach with this song compared to his other tracks, instead of being a melodic track, it's a hard hitting electro-ish sound. Although it's different i'm definitely not complaining, it's still an absolute banger. Just comes to show Alesso's skill in production when it comes to diversifying with music. Also known as ID4 before the name came out, not out for a while so check it out! DL link included!

The Spotlight: Eric Prydz

I thought that this would be a perfect time to do a feature on the legend that is Eric Prydz. Operating under the monikers Pryda and Cirez D and a former member of the Swedish House Mafia, Prydz is the only producer who has managed to keep his underground image and have an underground culture of supporters, yet still managing to be successful in the mainstream as well. Prydz is much more than 'Call On Me', which in my opinion doesn't showcase any of his talent whatsoever, as catchy as the song is, compared to his other productions it seems so bland.

The thing that I like about Prydz is that he's unique. Nowadays especially in America, it's all about how hard hitting a track is, and people focus too much on the drops. Prydz uses subtleties and flow throughout a track to make it good, coupled with irresistible melodies, making him one of the geniuses of the industry. His new album Pryda came out yesterday and I highly recommend you get it, it's one of the best albums I have ever listened to by far, full of tracks Prydz has been making for over 6 years.

I have included 6 of my favorite songs from the album as well as DL links, but please go buy the whole thing! Best bang for your buck... ever... so although i've included some songs, trust me when I say that almost each and every song (thats about 37 tracks) are incredible. Buy it!

Shadows (Original Mix)
This track is amazing, with the hypnotic yet simple vocals looping throughout the track, being perfectly complimented by the injection of high pitched synths throughout the song. If you don't like this song then there is something wrong with you.

Allein (Original Mix)
Based of a german hit by a band called 'Polkareis 18', Allein is possibly the best track on the album by far, the breakdown towards the end of the track is amazing and incorporates everything we come to expect from Prydz.

Europa (Original Mix)
This track shows Prydz diving into the darker side of things, with the notes going a bit lower and manages to get a dark undertone to surround the song. Still love it though, great track.

Hardrock Lausanne (Original Mix)
One of the harder hitting tracks of the album, this was unreleased with no HQ rips anywhere to be found before the album came out so this is a great treat to those who have been waiting.

Miami To Atlanta (Original Mix)
Although this track is one of his older ones, its tracks like these that solidify my love for Prydz, the melodies he incorporates into this song are amazing and its one of those tracks where you need to listen to the full song and not skip anything to appreciate it.

Viro (Original Mix)
Another one of the darker tracks within the album and in my opinion the second best track besides Allein. It's the melodies again that get me on this one.

Rising Star: Nathan Cohn

An artist who is still relatively unheard of, Nathan Cohn's new EP is being released via Guena Records on the 26th of May. Consisting of 2 tracks called 'Young Heroes' and 'Hong Kong'. The first track involves a euphoric progressive house track, with some nice piano synths and melodies, one of those tracks you could get lost in. The second track 'Hong Kong' still incorporates the piano synths into the track but derives into a darker side compared to the first track. My favorite out of the two would have to be 'Young Heroes' but they're both great tracks. check both out and make sure to get the EP when it drops on the 26th!!!

I've also included one of his mixtapes which came out April.

FULL PREVIEW: Alesso & Dirty South - City Of Dreams

Oh my god, this track... Dirty South and Alesso collaborate on a song and the result is pure gold, altough this isn't a release yet I couldn't help but post it. For sure one of their most emotional and best tracks to date. My prediction is this is gonna be one of the biggest anthems on the summer festival circuit, with the vocals actually provided by Alesso's uncle, this track encapsulates both the producers sounds so well and is perfect for the coming summer.

Monday Morning Motivation 4

This week is going to be one of the greatest weeks for releases, with Eric Prydz's new album out today, Avicii's 'Superlove' remix and a new Deniz Koyu track plus a lot of others, it's a lot to take in at one time. To start you off before I make a huge post on Eric Prydz's album along with a bunch of other tracks here are a few tracks i've stumbled across!

Wynter Gordon - Still Getting Younger (Third Party Vocal Mix)
You put Wynter Gordon on any track and it sounds ten times better, Third Party gave her song the EDM treatment and the result is a great feel good house track that will for sure get you up in the morning.

Serge Deavant - True Faith (Starkillers Remix)
Amidst all the lyrics that somewhat don't make sense, I had to post this, one of those great euphoric feeling tracks with a solid drop. Have a listen to this LOUD!

The instrumental being almost identical so this will have to do until the vocal mix comes out, a great track to have while we're still kept waiting!

Eric Prydz vs. Empire Of The Sun - We Are The Mirage (Roman Kay Bootleg)

Tomorrow, one of the most highly anticipated albums in EDM history is going to be released. 'Pryda' by Eric Prydz consists of 3 CD's, one full of unreleased material and the other 2 are restrospective mixes from the producer. It would be an understatement to say that i'm excited, so to get you all in the mood for the release here is a quite famous mashup that he uses, consisting of his instrumental of 'Mirage' and an acapella from 'We Are The People'. Amazing progressive track. Have a listen!

Recovery Sundays 4

After much celebration from this weekends great UEFA cup final, i'm sure you will want to wind down and relax to get ready for the week to come, here are a few laid-back/chill tracks to put you in that sunday mood.

Lana Del Rey - Video Games (Joris Voorn Edit)
Once again Lana Del Rey lends her voice to the world of EDM, kind of a deep/techy track but great if you wanna lay back and have a slow evening, Joris Voorn's instrumentals fit the vocals perfectly.

Chicane - Poppiholla
For all of you in Manila watching Chicane, you have no idea how lucky you are, he's one of those old school artists who's songs just don't get old. Have a listen!

Weekend Package 4

Here are once again more tracks to get your heads bopping into the early hours of sunday morning, featuring a mix of tracks ranging from electro to progressive house!

Crush On Toulouse (Ken Loi Mashup)
Mixed in with the Tommy Trash remix and the original remix, with the vocals of Nero's 'Crush On You'. You can't really go wrong with this one, I personally prefer the second drop but that's just me

Justin Bieber - Boyfriend (Dada Life Remix)
Not gonna lie, I refused to listen to this until today because It's Bieber.... But oh my god have Dada Life done a great job of completely de-bebiering the track and turning it into quite the banger.

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso vs. Luan Santana - Calling Pecado Bromance 2012 (Chuckie & Jack Esquire Bootleg)

FULL PREVIEW: Alesso ft. Matthew Koma - Years (Original Mix)

Here's a track from Alesso to get you going into the weekend, his anticipated next release called 'Years' is his best song yet. And my prediction, should it come out soon, is that it's going to be the anthem of 2012,  just the same way 'Levels' was for 2011 (and those are big shoes to fill). The piano that Alesso has become so accustomed to along with the vocals are amazing, a great feel good track and a definite must have. Counting the days for this one.

As for now I only have radio rip preview but this was DEFINITELY worth a post so you guys have to check it out!

Example ft. Flux Pavillion - Daydreamer (Henry Fong Remix)

Up and coming producer Henry Fong had spotted that amidst all the remixes to this track, there was a progressive one missing, and as good as all the other remixes are, this one is the best (Second would have to be Danny Byrd's remix). The synths he puts into the vocals, along with the first drop that blows up in your face are what makes the song to me, a perfect remix for summer time and definitely going in my top 10 releases of the month.

The Spotlight: Swedish House Mafia

You may be thinking this is an extremely obvious feature to do and all their songs are so well known already as it is so what’s the point in doing this. I’m going to be writing about the less obvious things and that you probably don’t know about the biggest act in dance music as well as a few tracks from each of the individual members that you may not have heard.

Consisting of Seb Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell. Three of whom are head honcho’s of their own respective music labels called SIZE, Axtone and Refune Records. Now spitting out some of the biggest artists in the industry. Steve started off as a Hip- Hop DJ, Seb’s first gig was in a pizzeria (although his dad owned 2 record labels) and Axwell was a producer trying to get his tracks out. They each have flourishing individual careers and together they became even bigger. What people don’t understand is that Swedish House Mafia was never a planned thing or group. It was actually used as an insult against the group in Stockholm, parading around the city as if they could do what they liked, thinking they were all that, hence the word ‘Mafia’. What started off as a group of friends asking each other for tips and opinions slowly evolved to the 3 of them DJ’ing together as a group, and that’s when they decided to call themselves the Swedish House Mafia.

What I bet you didn’t know was that there were 4 members of the group until around 2005, Eric Prydz was actually the 4th member but decided to leave the group because he was going in a different direction with his music (a more underground side of house).

Here are a bunch of tracks by the trio which you may not have heard!

Axwell ft. Sebastian Ingrosso - Together

Swedish House Mafia - Save The World (Alesso Remix)

Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound
One of the biggest tracks of the Miami 2012 season!

Sebastain Ingrosso - Kidsos Vs. We Are Your Friends

Axwell Ft. Errol Reid - Nothing But Love For You (Axwell's Remode)
